Working ropes
Working ropes are one of the items of individual personal protective equipment necessary for work at heights. They're useful when equipment or goods need to be secured. The special design of the ropes provides adequate load-bearing capacity and flexibility, which protect them from breaking. The PROTEKT company, being a manufacturer of equipment and systems that ensure work safety, provides users with working ropes of various dimensions, so that they can be appropriately matched to the nature of the work performed.
Working ropes offered by PROTEKT
The PROTEKT offers a wide range of working ropes. They're made of polyester with a special braid that increases durability. They're available, among others:
- working rope in two versions with a diameter of 16 and 18mm. The 12-fiber weave in a uniform braid construction provides a minimum static strength of as much as 37kN. The rope has a bright orange color, which increases its visibility at the work site;
- 10mm working rope with a static strength of 17kN, for work requiring lesser loads.
Features that impact the safety and performance
All PROTEKT working ropes are engineered to maintain high strength-to-weight ratios, offering excellent resistance to abrasions, UV exposure, and environmental factors. Their purposefully low elasticity reduces movement during use, ensuring stability in demanding situations.
Which rope to choose?
Selecting the most suitable working rope depends on the type of task, the load requirements, and environmental factors.
- 6mm working ropes are lightweight and highly versatile, hence suitable for tasks that involve securing lighter loads or handling small-scale equipment. They are ideal for short-distance use in controlled environments, such as light maintenance or guiding tools during operations. With an MBS breaking force of around 11.06kN, they offer reliable performance in lower-intensity applications.
- 10mm working ropes were designed for medium loads. They're perfect for securing moderately heavy equipment or ensuring safe movement in environments that require balance.
- 16mm and 18mm working ropes are thicker, more durable, and well-suited for tasks involving higher loads or more significant mechanical stress. Their bright orange color enhances visibility, making them ideal for worksites where clear identification is critical for safety.
- 20mm working ropes, built for heavy-duty applications, can handle a permissible working load of 30kN and have an impressive breaking force of up to 124kN! They are the go-to choice for demanding tasks, such as industrial lifting, rescue operations, or securing large equipment in harsh conditions.
